I ran three miles tonight! Wow, I feel good.  Didn’t feel so good while I was running…well, I hit a wall a little before the end of mile one and I went back and forth about slowing to a walking pace or keep pushing myself to run.  I ended up not slowing down, but I actually picked up pace! Approaching mile two, I challenged myself to see how far I could get into mile three.  In the back of my mind, I didn’t really have intentions of running all three miles, but I knew Ben would ask me when I got home how far I ran, and I wanted to have him be proud of me!  So I pushed myself and hit a good stride about a fourth of the way through mile three.  When I finished, my left foot was tingly, but aside from that, I felt good!! I timed myself and figured out that I ran around a nine minute mile….really good for being a novice runner!!! Don’t know if I will keep that mile time when I go running tomorrow, but one can hope, right?  I am starting to feel better about this Thanksgiving 5K in Kansas City now that I have one three mile run under my belt.  Just the fact that I could run three miles without slowing down to walk is pure joy to my body and soul.  It feels so good to have accomplished a little goal that I set for myself.

    Hey way to rock that run! That’s an awesome pace and way to push yourself all the way through! It encourages me as I think about hitting the trail today!
